Lowe's Offers Military Discount for Memorial Day Holiday

Lowe's Companies, Inc. is offering all active, reserve and retired military personnel and their immediate family members a 10 percent discount on in-store purchases made during the Memorial Day weekend. The discount is available May 26-31 on all in-stock purchases up to $2,000 (excluding special order and on-line sales) with a valid military ID.
"Lowe's is proud to support current and former military personnel who have made so many sacrifices defending our country's freedom," said Larry D. Stone, Lowe's senior executive vice president, operations. "We hope the Memorial Day weekend discount will be especially helpful to families who are living stateside and need to make purchases for their homes while their loved ones are serving abroad."
The military discount program is offered in conjunction with the Department of Defense's America Supports You program, an ongoing nationwide campaign that communicates America's support to men and women serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. In addition to the discount, Lowe's is giving away free "America Supports You" bumper stickers to store customers and sponsoring a NASCAR racing exhibit and how-to clinics for military families.
The Team Lowe's Fan Experience is traveling to military bases giving military families an opportunity to enjoy an interactive NASCAR racing exhibit. From May through July, Stephanie Glakas-Tenet and Julie Sussman, co- authors of "Dare to Repair," will travel with the Fan Experience and teach basic home repairs at clinics held especially for military families.

Since the launch of the America Supports You program last November, over 1.4 million Americans, including individual citizens, businesses and organizations, have logged onto the AmericaSupportsYou.mil website to register the activities and projects in their communities that show their support for America's Armed Forces, especially those serving in harm's way.
Every person who registers on the site will receive an America Supports You dog tag to wear as a visible sign of support. The America Supports You dog tags feature the program logo on a military style dog tag. On average, 700 people a day are signing up to receive the America Supports You dog tag.
