Garner fire destroys seven apartments

Investigators sifted through debris after a fire at an apartment complex in Garner. No one was hurt, but flames destroyed seven apartments at Bryan Woods Thursday.

Investigators said the fire started on an outdoor porch of a third floor unit. They are still trying to determine the cause
Meanwhile, the American Red Cross is helping out the seven people who lost their homes by putting them up in a hotel and giving them money to buy the necessities.
"(The Red Cross) card is very similar to a gift card and we load it with a specific dollar amount so clients can begin that recovery process," explained Patricia Leroy, American Red Cross.

United Methodist Church in Garner is donating furniture and clothing. The manager of Bryan Woods said there are vacant apartments available for displaced residents.
